The River House Wedding – Jen & Jamie
Jen and Jamie were married at the River House on the banks of the Tuki Tuki River, Hawke’s Bay – a setting that does most of the work on its own: a ceremony space set among the vines, and views stretching across the river to Te Mata Peak.
They chose a first look and bridal party photos before the ceremony, giving them more time with family and friends once the “I Do’s” were done – a decision that suited what mattered most to them on the day.
Jamie stood apart from his groomsmen in a light-coloured dinner jacket from Working Style; Jen wore a Khya gown suited to the warmth of a summer wedding. Speeches were held outside, ahead of dinner, alongside the cocktail bar – no reason to move the day indoors while the light was still good outside.
The River House continues to be one of my favourite Hawke’s Bay venues. Considered, unfussy, and entirely built around the setting it sits in.
