Winter Wedding at The River House — Francesca & Samir

Francesca and Samir grew up down the road from each other in Brisbane, and attended the same school without becoming a couple until much later. A new neighborhood coffee shop, and Samir finally working up the nerve to ask Francesca out. Ten years on, and now established in their careers – Francesca as an oncology nurse, Samir as a lawyer – they married on the banks of the Tuki Tuki River at The River House.

Their Flagship marquee was styled in white-on-white, one of Francesca’s favourite colour combinations, set at the top of the vineyard looking back toward Te Mata Peak. The most striking view, and what met their guests on arrival.

For all the beautiful styling, the day was built around family. Samir’s grandfather made the journey from Delhi at 93, alongside aunts and uncles who had travelled with him and Francesca’s sister coming from Germany to join the celebrations. Francesca and Samir are two of the most genuine people you could hope to photograph, and it was evident in every part of the day.
