Jess & Nate are opposites, but in a good way! You know when one person compliments the other; when one is loud and full of laughter (Jess) and the other is reserved and less talkative (Nate); when one prefer’s chocolate and the other cheese – this is Jess & Nate to a tee. And they truely couldn’t be more right for each other!
Their wedding day was another of those hot Hawke’s Bay days where if you had nothing better to do you would spend it lazing around a pool with friends, or alternatively if you had jobs to do you would get them done early so you could get out of the heat – yeah, so one of those days! It was a scorcher but we had a wedding to get to so all the ladies prepped at Jess’s parent house 10 minutes from the venue. All while trying to stay cool and not melt their make-up off (a true feat in heat like this!). While the guys got ready in Havelock North after a game or two of backyard cricket (a kiwi summer staple!)
Jess’s magnificent dress was made by her Aunt after purchasing the beautiful lace on a trip to Europe. She and Jess even manged to incorporate lace from both Jess’s Mum’s wedding dress and her Grandmother’s! All part of Jess’s vision for her wedding day. Lush florals were everywhere (check out that stunning floral arch at the ceremony by floral talent Virginia Lochore), teamed with the pretty neutrals and the men’s striking navy … and then there was the cake! Jess and I had already discussed cakes – we have a mutual love for sweets of all kinds, cake pretty much sitting at the top of that list! Jess & Nate’s cake was spectacular! A creation made by the talented Organic Ash, dripping with caramel and decorated with beautiful fresh florals. But anyway, the images below will describe Jess & Nate’s stunning day far better than I ever will so please, scroll …
